About Wagmu

Wagmu is a project designed by John Raffensperger, a lecturer at the University of Canterbury, and applies the principles of operations research to food consumption and nutrition. The project is founded on a belief in the importance of nutrition, and the idea that one good way to improve our nutrition is with better decision support.

What we eat impacts our health, our behavior, our lifestyles, and the earth. For us in the wealthy western cultures a improvement in our eating habits would not only reduce conditions such as obesity and diabetes, but would also to reduce our footprint on the environment. The great thing is that with Wagmu, we can improve our eating in a way that also saves us time and money.
